The Delta State Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Office, under the leadership of Lady Diana Ereyitomi Eyo-Enoette, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on SDGs, has officially partnered with the Roli Mabo Foundation (RMF) in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to accelerate progress on unachieved SDG goals in Delta State.

This collaboration is aimed at implementing transformational projects focused on clean water access, green energy, sustainable waste management, economic development, poverty alleviation, and environmental conservation. By leveraging the strengths of both entities, this partnership will mobilize resources, expertise, and innovative solutions to address key challenges in Delta State.

This partnership, which is a shared commitment to sustainable development is designed to:

  • Expand clean water access in riverine communities where the Roli Mabo Foundation has been actively working.
  • Promote sustainable energy solutions that enhance environmental conservation and reduce carbon footprints.
  • Implement waste management initiatives in collaboration with the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) to transform waste into valuable resources while fostering community awareness about environmental responsibility.
  • Develop economic empowerment programs that provide skills training and sustainable livelihoods.
  • Advance poverty alleviation efforts through strategic interventions and grassroots engagement.

The Roli Mabo Foundation has successfully met 10 out of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), positioning itself as one of the leading organizations in sustainable development within Nigeria. This partnership with the Delta State SDGs Office reflects a shared commitment to achieving even greater milestones, ensuring that more communities benefit from sustainable interventions.

One of the key focus areas will be the waste management conversation in partnership with FUPRE’s Centre for Waste Management and Sustainable Resources (CWMSR). This initiative aims to explore how waste-to-wealth models can be used to create economic opportunities while improving environmental sustainability.

Both Roli Mabo Foundation and Delta State SDGs believe that sustainable development requires a multi-dimensional approach. By integrating efforts across various SDGs pillars, this partnership seeks to:

  • Enhance access to quality education by supporting initiatives that promote literacy, vocational training, and digital skills.
  • Improve healthcare outcomes through awareness campaigns, medical outreach programs, and partnerships with healthcare providers.
  • Combat poverty by creating economic empowerment programs that offer skills training and entrepreneurship opportunities.
  • Support sustainable urban development by fostering initiatives in renewable energy, climate action, and environmental sustainability.

While specific projects are still being developed, this partnership serves as a foundation for future programs that will enhance social impact, economic growth, and environmental sustainability in Delta State.

Ade Mabo, Founder of the Roli Mabo Foundation reassures that this collaboration underscores our shared vision of a future where communities thrive through sustainable development and innovation.

Lady Diana Ereyitomi Eyo-Enoette while emphasizing the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration in achieving meaningful progress, states that sustainable development is not a one-sector effort. Through partnerships like this, we can drive lasting impact and create a better future for all.

The Roli Mabo Foundation – Delta State SDGs partnership represents a model for sustainable impact, leveraging collaborative governance, private sector engagement, and community-driven solutions to achieve long-term development goals.
